1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

The mission of “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” is to strengthen children’s vocabulary and language skills while promoting the habit of reading. Increased vocabulary and language skills are important tools for children to have as they begin to learn to read in kindergarten. To achieve the goal of reading 1,000 books, read regularly and receive reading rewards throughout the program. You’ll reach the goal before you know it!

Set your own pace and see how it adds up…
– read 1 book a day and the program is completed in 3 years
– read 3 books a day and the program is completed in 1 year
The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless!

How the Program Works:

To register visit Seekonkpl.Beanstack.com and sign up for a Beanstack account if you don’t already have one. From there, select “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” and start logging your books! You can download the Beanstack app to make things even easier! If you prefer, you can simply keep track on our paper log sheets which are available in the library, or you can print them yourself below.

Remember, if you read a book multiple times, you may write the title down every time you read the book. Why? Because the program isn’t about individual titles; it’s about the habit reading, plus children learn by repetition so reading a book many times is actually quite beneficial for kids!
