The Kiwanis of Greater Seekonk will be holding its first Annual Sports night on Friday, September 26, 2008 at the Johnson and Wales Inn, Seekonk, MA. This event will feature a DJ, good food, sports discussion, but most of all we will be auctioning some fabulous tickets to a Patriots Football Game, Red Sox Tickets, golf foursomes at some local courses, NASCAR tickets and much more. There will be also be a 50/50 raffle. Tickets for the 50/50 will be available starting on 6/18 from any of our members and the drawing will be held the night of the event. We are also putting together a program listing the auction items that will be distributed to all who attend the event. Ads for the program can be purchased starting at $20.
We are hoping to raise enough money to continue our Child Care Scholarship Program. This program is designed to provide temporary financial assistance to families in need while they try to advance their careers by continuing their education. Kiwanis pays 1/3 of the cost, the childcare provider pays 1/3, and the family pays 1/3. We currently have 6 children in the program, but have a waiting list of 10 or more children. Your generosity will allow us to help many families and their children take advantage of this program. The anticipated costs for one year will run upwards of $18,000.
If you would like to contribute something for the auction, purchase event tickets, raffle tickets or ads, make a donation or have any questions contact:
