Digital Walking Tour

Over the summer of 2018, in conjunction with the Seekonk Land Trust and the Seekonk Artists Network, the library hosted a photo contest of nature photos taken in Seekonk . The goal of the contest was to gather together a collection of photos to serve as a digital means to preserve and promote the town’s natural beauty. These photos have been made available to the public via Flickr and organized by location into a digital walking tour (of sorts) of Seekonk’s natural spaces.

Pay Fines With Food During National Library Week

During National Library Week, April 8-14, the library will accept donations of non-perishable food items in payment for overdue fines.  All donated food items go to the Doorways community food pantry.

Each can or package of a non-perishable food is worth one dollar that you can use towards paying your fines.

You may only use your food donations only to pay overdue fines. Food donations may not be applied to fees for lost or damaged materials, nor any other library fees.

To be acceptable, a food item must be (1) in undamaged cans or packages, and (2) not be past the product’s sell-by date.

The library will not return currency or provide credit for overpayment in food donations.  If you use four cans to pay a $3.50 fine, for example, you will not be getting 50 cents back.
