The Board of Library Trustees is an elected body that has the responsibility under Seekonk Town Charter, the Town Bylaws, and Massachusetts General Laws to administer the Seekonk Public Library and all properties assigned to it by the voters of the Town of Seekonk. The Board operates according to its bylaws and other policies it establishes. The Library Trustees also serve as the trustees of the Smart Memorial Trust, which was established by Town Bylaw.

Meeting Dates & Agendas
The Board of Library Trustees usually meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Sullivan Room at the library. Meeting announcements and agendas are posted at the Town Clerk’s Office and online on the library and town websites. If you wish to be included on the meeting agenda, please email the Board of Library Trustees at least four business days prior to the meeting date.

The library will email copies of the minutes and agendas in PDF format at no charge. There is a copying fee of five cents per page for paper copies, however.

Board of Trustees Award
The Seekonk Board of Library Trustees Award was established in 1979. The award was established to honor a graduating Seekonk High School senior who shown a commitment to academic excellence, has demonstrated perseverance in achieving goals set for themselves, and who has participated in a positive manner in school and extracurricular activities. Applications are available at the Guidance Department Office.
